Claranor Pulsed Light Sterilisation in South Korea
Since 2018, South Korean consumers have been looking for healthier options for themselves and their families; food products that better suit their lifestyle. As a result, the markets for wellness and organic products have seen strong growth, almost 30%.
On the other hand, the Covid crisis and the awareness of the importance of hydration have accelerated the sale of naturally healthy drinks. These include bottled water, RTD (ready-to-drink) tea and increasingly natural and healthy beverages, especially sugar-free. The reduction in sugar makes the products more sensible to bacterial and mould growth and it is necessary to include decontamination of the packaging, cap and preform in the bottling process before filling.
In the dairy sector, the global health crisis has also influenced the consumption patterns of the South Korean population. Functional and fortified products are therefore very popular, especially in the form of yoghurt drinks. Consumers are looking for healthy products that help build up a good immune system in this health crisis.
Pulsed light microbiological decontamination solutions are also being applied to dairy packaging.
Claranor’s Pulsed Light microbiological packaging sterilisation solutions are cost-effective and do not use chemicals. The power of Pulsed Light destroys all forms of mould, bacteria and even the most resistant. Since 2014, around ten Claranor pulsed light sterilization machines have been operating in South Korea.
